Another day, another Uni/Uni-ball pen… I purchased this pen as part of my last JetPens order and hadn’t really had a chance to review it, but there’s no time like the present. I’ve purchased some of the Jetstream Sports here in the states and enjoyed using them, so I decided to go ahead and grab their finer cousin (0.5mm compared to 0.7mm) from Japan and give it a try as well…

This pen is relatively well designed (as are most of Uni’s pens) and is also pretty simple… It really has no visible grip, but as you can see in the pictures below, there are a series of white “designer squares” on the barrel, which are actually raised slightly, providing a surface for your fingers to grab on to. I’m not really a fan of said “designer squares”, mainly because they look a wee bit girlish, but I can deal with that… I think…

As is characteristic of the Jetstream series, this ballpoint writes extremely smoothly and without any skipping or scratching. The line width does seem to live up to the 0.5mm claim and is par with that of the Ohto Pieni 0.5mm ballpoint I reviewed a while back. I do believe that this has become one of my new favorite ballpoints for it’s writing quality (although I may try to stick the cartridge in another barrel).
